MPS Presents New Label Presses at Labelexpo Europe

Flexo and offset printing presses producer MPS has presented an extended new product range at Labelexpo Europe this year.

The company showcased an improved version of EF Neo press with new software with close loop print pressure setting solutions and an improved operator interface, and a more user-friendly functionality that is claimed to simplify press navigation and control.

It also presented the new hybrid GEW LED UV system (ArcLED) with low migration inks which was integrated on the EF Neo press.

The product range also includes the EF SYMJET press, which was designed in partnership with Domino.

The EF SYMJET press combines digital and flexo printing technologies from MPS and Domino. The Domino digital unit uses Kyocera print heads to print a resolution of 600x600 dpi, with up to six colours and opaque white.

It has a 340mm web width on the Domino printer and wider web width of 430mm on the MPS press, thus allowing converters to run more labels across the web when running in pure flexo mode, and at a higher speed, MPS said.

Optikett has ordered the first MPS EF Symjet hybrid digital/flexo press at the event.

MPS sales and marketing director Aakon Schüssel said: "With its large and broad attendance of narrow web printers and converters, Labelexpo Europe gave MPS an ideal opportunity to debut our new highly automated EF Neo flexo press and the SYMJET digital/flexo press with an integrated Domino digital N610i inkjet printer.

"In addition to numerous orders from existing and new customers, and an unprecedented number of visitors from all over the world, we celebrated on our stand the first order for the SYMJET digital/flexo press purchased by German printer Optikett."
