Commercial vehicle manufacturer Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus (MFTBC) unveiled a ‘fuel efficient truck’ and ‘FUSO-Concept II’ design concept.
The fuel efficient truck features new drag foiler and side spoilers which enhance the aerodynamics, implementation of alternator power generation control and generation of power through solar battery.
Its light weight, and low-resistance tires contribute for achieving an enhanced 10% fuel efficiency.
The company has also unveiled FUSO-Concept II which is the design concept model of a heavy-duty truck developed focusing the commercial vehicles market in 2032.
MFTBC Product Engineering vice president Gustav Tuschen said the commercial vehicles industry in twenty years will see the Asian transportation network fully interconnected to Europe.
"In addition to this, advanced technologies will also see a leap, such as realization of automated vehicle formation driving and significant advance in battery and fuel cell technologies," Tuschen said.
The FUSO-Concept II model features enhanced aerodynamics and payload efficiency, solar panel-generated hybrid technology, implementation of automated vehicle formation driving mode.
Fuso is also planning to launch the new Canter Eco Hybrid light-duty truck in spring this year in Japan.
The technologies offered by the company follow "FUSO 2015," its five-pillar growth strategy for the future following which the truck maker aims to double its international sales volume to over 200,000 units per year.
