The Steel Columns of The Thu Duc Intersection's Overpass Were Put Into Place

Nhan Dan Online reported that the steel columns of the Thu Duc intersection’s overpass, the first steel flyover built over a crossroad, were put into place in Ho Chi Minh City at late last night after five months of construction.

The four lane overpass is 570 metres long and 16 metres wide and designed only for the use of four-wheeled moror vehicles, and motorcycles are not permitted. It is expected to put into operation ten days before the Lunar New Year Tet 2013.

Ho Chi Minh City will build another similar overpass running parallel to this one to respond to the traffic requirements on the Hanoi Highway.

This is one of four steel flyovers built at the city’s most congested intersections, including Hang Xanh and Thu Duc crossroads in Binh Thanh and Thu Duc district, Hoang Van Thu - Cong Hoa - Truong Son and Cay Go roundabouts in Tan Binh and No.6 districts respectively, to address the traffic problems.
