Italian Private Investindustrial Has Agreed to Acquires 37.5% Stake in Aston Martin

Italian private equity fund Investindustrial has agreed to acquire 37.5%stake in British sportscar manufacturer Aston Martin.

Investindustrial senior principal Andrea Bonomi said,"We are looking forward to working with the management and Investment Dar to achieve a similar transformation and rejuvenation that we achieved with Ducati,by expanding the model range and strengthening the dealership network,throughout the world."

Over the next five years,Aston Martin aims to invest over GBP500m in its new product and technology programme.

Aston Martin said that production will remain at its global headquarters at Gaydon in Warwickshire.

The company's portfolio includes DB9,Vanquish and Vantage sports cars,the Cygnet city car.

Aston Martin was sold in 2007 by the US-based Ford Motor to a consortium comprised of David Richards,John Sinders,Investment Dar and Adeem Investment Company.
