Manganese Ore Shipments Decreased by 4.22 % in July

In August this year, manganese ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland totaled 257,000 metric tons, decreasing by 4.22 percent from 268,321 metric tons in July and up 183.98 percent compared to the same month of 2013, according to the monthly data released by the Port Hedland Port Authority.

Meanwhile, in August, China was the only destination for manganese ore shipments from Port Hedland, with exports to China up 20.48 percent compared to July.

Port Hedland handles production from mines owned by BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group and Atlas Manganese in the manganese ore-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.
