LS Cars in Japan Is Unveiled by Lexus

Lexus, the luxury vehicle division of Toyota Motor, has launched its new LS lineup cars, including LS 460, LS 460L, LS 600h and LS 600hL in Japan.

LS 460, LS 460L cars are powered by 4.6 litre V8 1UR-FSE engine mated to a 8 Electronically-controlled, Eight-speed Automatic Transmission (ECT).

The hybrid variants, including LS 600h and LS 600hL, THS II with two-stage motor mated to an all-wheel-drive system.

According to the carmaker, the new lineup offers enhanced operability and cruising stability through an improved Variable-Gear-Ratio Steering (VGRS).

Safety features of the new range of cars include, advanced pre-collision system with collision avoidance assist, adaptive high-beam system (AHS) and LS's blind spot monitor (BSM) system.

The new LS lineup cars include new advanced illumination system that controls vehicle lights according to the situation, providing total coordination of light-operation timing and brightness.

Lexus' hybrid lineup offer five selectable driving modes that will allow driver to monitor the driving situations to improve driving responsiveness.

The company said it is aiming to sell about 300 LS cars per month in Japan.
