Marangoni reports demand for its Unitread products has increased, making a third shift a necessity.
Marangoni Tread North America reports it is adding a third shift to Unitread precure tread manufacturing at its Madison, Tenn., plant.
"With unit sales up over 50 % this year, production had to be increased right away," says Bill Sweatman, president and CEO. "This action is the result of increased demand of our Unitread products with growth coming from existing customers as well as the addition of new ones.
"We are well pleased with our original decision to establish our manufacturing plant in the United States and the middle Tennessee area has been very good for us. Being made in the U.S.A. and distributed from a central location has given us not only a competitive advantage against competitors importing products into the U.S., but provides us with a facility and the people resources to give us almost unlimited growth potential."
Sweatman says, "The Marangoni Unitread product line was introduced in 2011 to satisfy certain customer needs and retreadable casing requirements and has been a big success for us. Marangoni retreaders are able to manage the use of tire casing life better than ever before, utilizing Ringtread technology for maximum performance at the lowest operating cost as well as conventional precure tread products as needed to meet customer and casing life requirements.
"The economy has been showing steady improvement and demand for commercial truck tire retreading remains strong and growing," he adds. "We have recently increased production of the Ringtread product line as well and look forward to a very good 2014."
