Art Van Furniture Will Open Its Second Indiana Store Early Next Year

Art Van Furniture will open its second Indiana store here early next year as it continues its aggressive push into four states around its Michigan home base.

The Warren, Mich.-based Top 100 company said it will open a 46,000-square-foot store at 311 Coliseum Blvd. across the street from the Glenbrook Mall in January. The store will create more than 50 jobs.

This summer, as it moved into greater Chicago, the retailer noted plans for a Fort Wayne store. Earlier this summer, it opened a 50,000-square-foot showroom in Merrillville, Ind. - one of three Chicago-area stores now open - as well as its first-full full-line Toledo, Ohio, showroom.

This was on top of its expansion of Art Van PureSleep specialty bedding store concept, now totaling 11 freestanding stores.

Suppliers and brands carried in the full-line stores include England, La-Z-Boy, HGTV Home and Cindy Crawford Home, among others. Art Van is remodeling a former retail space in Fort Wayne for its showroom, which also will feature an Art Van Clearance Center and PureSleep department.

"Art Van Furniture is well known for style, value and customer service, and we look forward to helping families in the Fort Wayne area enhance their homes," Art Van Elslander, founder and chairman, said in a release.
