Some 246 exhibitors set up stands at the ZOW Istanbul, which was held from 17 to 20 January. This figure includes about 50 companies exhibiting for the first time. Austrian businesses also set up their first joint national stand. The number of visitors stood at approximately 16,000, according to Horst Rudolph, the managing director of Clarion Events Deutschland whose Turkish subsidiary organised ZOW Istanbul. Around 3,000 visitors came from outside Turkey. ZOW Istanbul took place in the autumn between 2009 and 2011 and was not held last year. Changing the date to January did result in fewer visitors and exhibitors. Nonetheless, the fair did beat the organiser’s expectations.
