Germany's Crude Steel Output Decreased by 9.2 Percent Month on Month

In August this year, Germany's crude steel output decreased by 9.2 percent month on month to 3.13 million metric tons and decreasing by one percent compared to August 2013, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). Meanwhile, in the first eight months of the current year, the country's crude steel output increased by 3.3 percent year on year to 29.07 million metric tons.

On the other hand, in July this year, Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 3.21 million metric tons, indicating an increase of 6.4 percent, including 2.14 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 3.9 percent, and 1.1 million metric tons of long steel products - up 11.8 percent, all on year-on-year basis. Meanwhile, in the first seven months of this year, Germany's total hot rolled steel production amounted to 21.92 million metric tons, increasing by 1.3 percent, including 14.42 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 1.6 percent, and 7.51 million metric tons of long steel products - down 0.6 percent, all on-year-on year basis.
