SEAT Has Delivered Two of Its Electric Vehicles to Spanish Utility Company Endesa

Spanish automobile manufacturer SEAT has delivered two of its electric vehicles to Spanish utility company Endesa as a part of pilot test in Spain.

The vehicles include Altea XL Electric Ecomotive, and a plug-in hybrid Leon TwinDrive which are to be test driven by eight employees of Endesa in Catalonia, Spain till December 2013.

The agreement involving both the companies is a second stage where the vehicles are to be tested, after the first stage selection and variation of the models was done.

The test evaluates the range of the vehicles by driving the cars a distance of 400km per month in the urban, 600km in the interurban and a distance of 900 km in the district zones.

SEAT and the Volkswagen Group vice-president for Governmental and Institutional Relations in Spain Ramón Paredes said that both the companies aim to promote electric vehicles; these tests signify another step towards achieving that objective.

"Working together will provide us with a professional point of view which will contribute to the better development of our models," Paredes added.
