TEA Bottle Can Now Pack Products with Oxygen-Sensitive Enrichments

The Tetra Evero Aseptic (TEA) bottle can now pack products with oxygen-sensitive enrichments due to a barrier material made of high-density polyethylene in the package top.

It can be used for increasingly popular drink categories such as enriched ambient white milk, dairy alternatives, flavoured milk, and toddler and baby milk.

The package was launched following a successful pilot with Italy’s leading dairy company Granarolo, for its enriched lactose-free product range Accadi.

Granarolo marketing director Tiziano Manco said the TEA bottle was easy to handle, with a good environmental profile.

It was first introduced in 2011 featuring flat side panels on an otherwise cylindrical carton body, as well as an injection-moulded plastic top that gives the pouring quality and convenience of a conventional bottle.

TEA’s unusual geometry, coupled with its 360° printable surface, gives brand owners scope to create designs with strong shelf appeal.

Tetra Pak's vice president (carton bottle) said the new version of TEA would help dairy producers expand their offerings to more dairy drink categories such as vitamin-enriched milk or soy milk while using the same packaging and processing machines.
