Rockleigh, N.J. — Crestron expanded it A/V receiver selection with the $5,500-suggested 7.1-channel HD-XSPA, which is designed to integrate with the company's DigitalMedia whole-house 4K A/V system.

The AVR incorporates an onboard DigitalMedia receiver, which enables a one-wire connection to a DigitalMedia switcher installed in a central equipment cabinet to access a home's shared video sources.

The two-space rack-mountable component, which is shipping, also features multiple control ports addressable from a Crestron control system.

Audio technology manager Dennis Fink said that before the launch of the new AVR, installers had to install both a Creston AVR and a Digital Media receiver in each room as part of a Crestron multiroom-A/V system.

The AVR features color LCD front panel for basic setup and operation; 8x140-watt amplification into 8 ohms; direct connection to an HDBaseT source; and four HDMI inputs supporting 1080p, 3D and 4K Ultra HD video. Other inputs include one S/PDIF optical, two S/PDIF coaxial, two unbalanced stereo, one balanced stereo and one Crestron DM 8G+ input for receiving video from a central source.
