Argentina's Crude Steel Production Was Down Two Percent in Aug

According to the report released by Argentina's steel chamber, in August this year the country's crude steel production was down two percent month on month and decreased by 2.4 percent year on year, amounting to 467,400 metric tons. Production in the first eight months of the current year totaled 3.64 million metric tons, 8.9 percent higher compared with the same period of 2013.

In August this year, Argentina's production of hot rolled steel amounted to 392,500 metric tons, down 7.1 percent month on month and decreasing by 12.9 percent compared to August 2013. In the first eight months of this year, the country's hot rolled steel production totaled 3.32 million metric tons, decreasing 0.6 percent compared to the same period of 2013.

In August of the current year, Argentina's cold rolled flat steel production decreased by 2.6 percent month on month and declined by 10 percent year on year to 116,300 metric tons, while output decreased by 5.9 percent year on year to 941,100 metric tons in the first eight months of the year.
