Fortress Was Only Company to Propose Reliable Metal Detection Solution to Solve Issue

The paper and stationery manufacturer is using the system to detect metal in pulp bales at its facility in Eitval Clairefontaine. Paper notebooks are sent to the site in 250kg pulp bales secured with steel wire.

The wire is automatically cut and rewound using a de-wiring system to avoid damage to machinery by stray remnants of metal.  However, on the odd occasion that the system fails to retrieve all of the steel wire in its entirety, it may result in blocking the process and damaging some equipment.

Clairefontaine spokesperson, David Daudenthun comments: “Fortress was the only company to propose a reliable metal detection solution to solve the issue in hand. Despite featuring an especially large aperture, it easily fits into limited production space and has saved Clairefontaine considerable downtime, thereby helping speed up the manufacturing process.”
