Jeffrey Massimilla Has Become The First Cyber Security Chief of General Motors

Jeffrey Massimilla has become the first cyber security chief of General Motors to strengthen the security of computers that run on GM cars.

The company's in car computer system is capable of managing brakes, navigation and engines, and in case the system is hacked then the hacker will be able to gain control of the car which can pose threat to the driver and the car.

Reports suggest that researchers have found out vulnerabilities in vehicles computer system system that can be misused to hack the cars system.

The company has established one integrated organization named Vehicle and Vehicle Services Cybersecurity, to oversee the issues related to cyber security for vehicles.

The team will work with other experts to develop protocols to reduce cybersecurity threats.

The new car technologies including self driving cars are expected to get released within the next decade.
