Chile's Rebar Shipments Decrease by 4.7% From a Month Ago

According to data released by Chile's construction chamber (CChC), Chile’s rebar shipments totaled 46,742 tons in May, decreasing by 4.7% from a month ago and slumping by 21.9% year on year.

In the first half of this year, the country’s rebar shipments amounted to 311,948 tons, down by 1.5% in comparison of 316,896 tons in the same period of 2012.

Meanwhile, it’s known that the domestic rebar market is supplied by the two major mills CAP Acero and Gerdau.
