Swiss Life Selects Aetna to Deliver International Health Care Benefits

Zurich-based life and pension insurer Swiss Life has selected Aetna (AET), a global health care services company, to deliver international health care benefits and services for expatriates out of Singapore to its roster of multinational customers, effective immediately.

Under the agreement, Aetna will offer expat health care benefits to Swiss Life's customers in Singapore, apart from the US Customers. Furthermore, Aetna's expatriate health care plans will substitute Swiss Life Singapore's in-house expatriate health care benefit plans.

The agreement follows the announcement made in July, whereby Aetna was appointed as the US partner for the Swiss Life Network, a global alliance of 60 insurance firms and business partners operating in 70 nations.

Leveraging the Swiss Life Network, Swiss Life provides a complete range of international and local employee benefit packages to multinational companies.

Aetna International Southeast Asia general manager Derek Goldberg said, "We are pleased to expand our role in the Swiss Life Network to provide its customers in Singapore with high-quality expatriate employee benefits solutions and services tailored to meet their specific needs."

"With our on-the-ground presence in Singapore and our strong global reach, we can provide the personalised, comprehensive service that multinational companies require to ensure their mobile employees have access to quality medical treatment so they can maintain good health."

Aetna caters to various kinds of individual and group plans in the Singapore market, including its flagship International Health Care Plan that offers global coverage to customers and Aetna Healthy Aessentials for customers seeking coverage across the Southeast Asia region.

With a workforce of nearly 7,000, with about 4,500 certified financial advisors, the Swiss Life Group operates in Switzerland, Germany and France, and has competency centers in Luxembourg, Liechtenstein and Singapore.
