9 Representative Chinese Handset Manufacturers Beat Samsung and LG's Combined Market

The Federation Of Korean Industries (KFI) reported that China beats South Korea on the smartphone market share. 9 representative Chinese handset manufacturers have beat Samsung and LG's combined market share for 2014Q2.

The representative Chinese smartphone makers, Huawei, Lenovo, Xiaomi, Coolpad, ZTE, TCL, Vivo, Oppo and Gionee, acounted for 31.3% of global market share in the Q2. Samsung and LG's share was 30.1%

Huawei, Lenovo and Xiaomi were first, second and third among Chinese smartphone makers, together with a 17.3% market share, 5.4% more than world's second largest vendor, Apple.

The FKI said strong interest in Apple's new iPhone and price-competitive handsets made by Chinese companies have directly impacted South Korea's falling market share for the last two years. The federation urged South Korean companies to find new industries to offset losses.
