The Ninth Edition of Texfai Will Be Held From 9-12 January

The ninth edition of Texfair—the textile machinery, accessories and spares expo—organised by the Southern India Mills Association (SIMA) will be held from 9-12 January, 2015 in Coimbatore.

Texfair 2015 is intended to bring together the manufacturers and suppliers of textile machinery, spares, accessories, components and the consumers such as textile mills, powerlooms, handlooms and knitters under one roof, according to SIMA, the single largest employer’s organisation for the organised textile industry in India.

Texfair 2015 will have 180 participants showcasing their products in 240 stalls. Besides Tamil Nadu, companies from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab and West Bengal, and also from abroad are participating in the expo.

In addition to display of products, the event will also see sessions on shuttleless looms, manmade fibre, energy conservation and solar energy.

Indian textile and clothing industry has embarked on a vision of capturing market worth US $ 220 billion by the year 2020 with an annual growth rate of 11 per cent per annum. This would need an estimated machinery requirement of 2.925 crore spindles, 1.09 lakh shuttleless looms, 99,000 automatic shuttle looms, 59,000 plain looms, and 39,000 semi-automatic looms, according to SIMA.

In addition, 9,400 knitting machines and 14.5 lakh sewing machines would also be required. This makes Texfair 2015 an ideal platform for manufactures of textile machinery, spares and accessories to showcase and market their products.

The second edition of Farm to Finish expo would also be held, alongside Texfair 2015. (RKS)
