According to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat), in the first four months of this year, there was no ferrous scrap among the most exported products from Georgia to Turkey, the country's main trading partner. Georgia's ferrous scrap exports to Turkey have been declining since the second half of 2011. Turkey had imported 124.246 mt steel scrap from Georgia in 2012 and 311.880 mt in 2011, according to the Turkish Statistical Institue (TUIK).

However, Georgia exported 17,441 mt of semi-finished products of iron or non-alloy steel to Turkey in the January-April period of this year, with a value of $8.3 million, with no record of exports of the products in question to Turkey in the same period of 2012.

Meanwhile, in the first four months of the current year ferroalloys were not included either among Georgia's most exported products to Turkey.
