RPC Containers Corby Announced The Launch of The New 380ml Apollo Container

RPC Containers Corby has announced the launch of the new 380ml Apollo container, which serves as a plastic alternative to the traditional tin can.

The new container, which combines prolonged ambient shelf life with all the benefits of plastics such as lightweight, easy handling and safety, also offers the convenience of re-closing.

According to RPC, for protection against oxygen ingress that ensures long shelf life, the Apollo features a PP/EVOH/PP multilayer structure.

The container is claimed to be suitable for various food processes including hot fill, retort and pasteurizing and offers a fluted design in the same diameter as a can.

The design of Apollo comes with full sleeving and labeling options to create branding and on-shelf appeal. To maximize shelf space, it is also stackable.

Apollo container's neck has been specifically designed for the Aptar Bap Trilogy closure, which ensures better pack integrity and freshness of the product. Featuring a plastic ring pull, the foil seal enables easy opening.

An overcap is also available for re-closing, which cuts down food waste.

Highly resistant to breakage and denting, the lightweight pack avoids any sharp edges in a bid to offer safety and convenience.

RPC Corby general manager Michael Stegeman said Apollo provides all the benefits of multilayer plastic in a container format.

"Just as important are its sustainable advantages of extended product shelf life, reduced food waste and light weight, which underline its relevance in today's environmentally-aware markets," Stegeman said.
