PVH Europe Has Selected Centric Software to Provide The PLM Solution

PVH Europe has selected Centric Software, Inc., to provide the product lifecycle management (PLM) solution for all Tommy Hilfiger Europe product divisions after an extensive evaluation of PLM solutions.

The company will implement the full web-based Centric 8 PLM software suite and mobile apps across all Tommy Hilfiger Europe brands, categories and lines. The company also plans to use the Centric solution for its Calvin Klein Europe brands. Up to 1,000 internal and external product development users will work with the solution.

“The Centric PLM software is an excellent fit for Tommy Hilfiger Europe,” says Arne Tjalma, vice president of information technology at PVH Europe. “Designed specifically for the apparel industry, Centric 8 provides a scalable, web-based enterprise solution—combined with a visionary mobile strategy—to meet the needs of Tommy Hilfiger Europe and those of Calvin Klein Europe,” he adds.

Expected benefits include global cross-brand collaboration throughout the design and development cycle and improved visibility for management decision making, according to Tjalma. “Centric PLM will also enable many opportunities for improved efficiencies and speed to market,” he says.

Centric 8’s ease of use fosters end-user adoption, and the software will help the company gain in-depth visibility of product development and lifecycles for the large collection of products that are sold around the globe, says Tjalma. “Centric has a PLM strategy and vision to meet our future requirements.”

Tommy Hilfiger Europe valued the configurable, out-of-the-box characteristics of the Centric 8 software, which incorporates industry business best practices and business models into the core PLM solution. Centric will use its Agile Deployment SM implementation methodology to deploy the PLM solution at Tommy Hilfiger Europe. Leveraging the principles of agile software development, Agile Deployment enables faster implementations than other PLM systems. “The Centric 8 capability that allows business users to change part of the configuration of the product without heavily involving IT is valuable to us because it improves both software implementation time and user adoption,” says Tjalma.

“Centric 8’s ability to manage multiple brands, categories and product lines—combined with our broad portfolio of mobile apps—will help the Tommy Hilfiger Europe and Calvin Klein Europe product development teams make great productivity gains, and leverage capabilities across teams,” says Chris Groves, president and CEO of Centric. “Our companies’ shared strategic vision, and plan to partner on further development of mobile apps and digital technologies for PLM, is an exciting element of the partnership.”

Tommy Hilfiger Europe lines include: sportswear for men, women and children; footwear; athletic apparel; bodywear; handbags; men's tailored clothing; men's dress furnishings; accessories and small leather goods; and luggage. The Hilfiger Denim product line consists of jeanswear and footwear for men and women; bags; and accessories.

Calvin Klein Europe product lines include women’s wear, men’s wear, shoes and accessories across the Calvin Klein Collection, Calvin Klein Platinum, and Calvin Klein Jeans brands.
