The No.1 Intermediate People's Court in Beijing, China has upheld the validity of Japan-based Nichia's two YAG (yttrium aluminum garnet) patents in a lawsuit against the largest Taiwan-based LED packaging house Everlight Electronics, according to Nichia.
Everlight was asking the court to overturn a decision by the Patent Reexamination Board (PRB) under China's State Intellectual Property Office that Nichia's two YAG patents, coded ZL97196762.8 and ZL03159595.2, are valid.
But the court has dismissed Everlight's request, Nichia said.
