Ashland Performance Materials, a commercial unit of Ashland has installed a Nordmeccanica Super Combi 3000 laminator at its research and development center in Dublin, Ohio, US.
Ashland Performance Materials packaging and converting adhesives and coatings global director Dave Hatgas said the company works with customers to create products suited for their applications and processes.
"The addition of the laminator to our product development and analytics capabilities will allow us to run commercial-scale trials for our label and flexible packaging customers, as well as label printer/converters seeking to expand into flexible packaging applications," Hatgas said.
The full production scale Nordemeccanica Super Combi 3000 has the capacity to run up to 1,300ft of film per minute and will be used to develop new laminating chemistries, optimize processes and perform safety evaluations before commencing production.
Italy-based Nordmeccanica manufactures coating and laminating machinery.
