3M Filed a Case Against Lms in The Seoul Central District Court

3M Innovative Properties and 3M Korea have filed a case against LMS in the Seoul Central District Court, accusing the latter of infringing the patents for stacked prism film products.

3M has complained that LMS light management film package products have infringed 3M's Korean Patent No. 1,074,570 'Method for Stacking Surface Structured Optical Films' owned by 3M.

Such products also include a light management film package under the product name 'XLAS'.

The micro-replicated stacked prism films made by 3M, including 3M Advanced Structured Optical Composites (ASOC)are fitted in LCD displays.

The prism films provide light to enable a thinner and more energy-efficient electronic display.

Earlier this month, the company has settled a patent infringement suit with Catheter Connections in US, relating to disinfecting port protector intellectual property, including Catheter Connections' DualCap System products and 3M Curos products.

3M operates in five business groups including consumer market, electronics and energy, healthcare, industrial and safety and graphics.
