Coopers Brewery Has Released a New Ale

Australian-owned Coopers Brewery has released a new ale, ‘2015 Extra Strong Vintage’.

The new beer is the latest in Coopers vintage line which sees a different beverage ‘vintage’ introduced to the market each year.

Coopers 2015 offering is described as a rich ale with five hop varieties used to create the beer. Melba hop is the main variety in the beer giving it stone fruit and citrus undertones including passion fruit and peach. The beer has a spicy aroma and is more bitter than previous Coopers vintage ales.

The alcohol content is 7.5 per cent which makes it the strongest beer line brewed by Coopers.This years beverage was created locally at Ellerslie Hop Estate in Victoria.

Coopers Extra Strong Vintage Ale was first released in 1998, with further vintages in 1999, 2000,2002, 2004, and every year since 2006.

The Ale can be consumed immediately “while flavours are fresh”, or stored in cool conditions “for tastings after six to 12 months of maturation”.

Coopers Brewery was established in 1862 in Adelaide and is mostly owned by the Cooper family. It is the only wholly Australian-owned brewery. The company is also a large producer of home brewery kits along with its own beverages.

The 2015 Vintage Ale has a recommended retail price of $85 for a carton of 24 or $28 per six pack of 355ml bottles. The ale is available for purchase at Dan Murphy’s, Liquorland and other alcohol retailers.
