Sainsbury's Is Seeking to Work with Local Authorities Throughout The UK

United Kingdom: Sainsbury's to Boost Regional Recycling Rate Throughout UK

Sainsbury's is seeking to work with local authorities throughout the UK to reinvigorate its customer recycling facilities. The transformed facilities will offer a more consistent and comprehensive service, making it easier for customers to recycle their household materials, and will complement existing kerbside collections. They are also intended to complement existing local authority kerbside collections.

Sainsbury's has partnered with Palm Recycling,a leading provider of bring bank services,as well as Oxfam and Valpak,to introduce the new recycling system that aims to enhance recycling rates, reduce local authority costs and offer a more aesthetically pleasing and customer-friendly facility. It also allows councils to fulfil their waste reporting obligations.

"This initiative will improve the recycling experience for many of Sainsbury's customers, enabling them to recycle a wider range of materials at many of its stores,"said WRAP Director,Marcus Gover."We are encouraged by the approach Sainsbury's is taking in seeking to work in co-operation with local authorities in making these changes. It is good that all the facilities will adop
