The PV Power-Generating Station

Power supply maker and energy management solution provider Delta Electronics has announced that its 750 20kW PV inverters, coded RPI-M20A, will be adopted by Japan-based Takara Leben, with the devices to be used in a 15MW PV power-generating station consisting of a number of distributed PV systems in Tochgi Prefecture, central Japan.

The PV power-generating station will be established on a 400,000-square-meter abandoned golf course, with PV modules to be assembled into systems for being installed on varying land forms, Delta said. The station is estimated to generate electricity of 21 million kWh a year, sufficient for use by 3,700 local households.

RPI-M20A is water-proof, dust-proof and corrosion-resistant in salty environment, featuring energy conversion efficiency up to 98.6% (Japan Industrial Standard is 97.5%). It is suitable for outdoor installation with built-in string mechanism for monitoring power generation to save cost of monitoring equipment. There is no need for DC string combiner boxes to spread risks of electric malfunction.
