Havells-Sylvania hires Edward Lees to expand LED business

Havells-Sylvania has welcomed back former colleague Edward Lees to the company and his new role as strategic business unit manager for LEDs.

Lees returns to Havells-Sylvania after 18 months with Toshiba Lighting and is now responsible for growing the Sylvania LED business across Europe.

Lees first joined Sylvania in 2005 directly from university, in a packaging-design role at the factory in Shipley. In 2007, Edward was appointed UK marketing manager for Sylvania Lamps before moving to be strategic business unit manager for HID.

“I am delighted to be back at Havells-Sylvania,” said Edward. “Sylvania has been an important part of my career and my family’s. My father worked at Sylvania for 27 years as product manager in CFL and SPG. I am looking forward to immersing myself into a new challenge and growing the already successful LED business.”

The company said Lees’ appointment cements Havells-Sylvania’s commitment to expanding its LED business and growing its internal team.

“Edward has a great history with Sylvania”, said Peter Dillen, SBU director LED at Havells-Sylvania. He added: “I know he will make a positive impact to our LED business and strengthen our position as a leader in LED across Europe”.
