Smythson Has Said That Jacques Bahbout Taken on The Role of Chief Executive Office

Smythson, the British luxury leather goods and stationery brand, has said that Jacques Bahbout, chairman and owner of Smythson, has also taken on the role of chief executive officer of the firm, following the departure of Andy Janowski from that position late last year. Xavier Rougeaux, formerly global marketing and communications director at Smythson, has had his duties expanded in the new role of chief commercial officer, with responsibility for merchandising, retail, wholesale and corporate sales channels, in addition to his marketing and communications remit.

Confirming Janowski’s departure, Smythson said the executive had resigned for “personal reasons” following the birth of his twin children. Janowski had held the post since May 2012, and before joining as ceo was a non-executive director at Smythson. Prior to taking on the ceo role at Smythson, Janowski served as chief operations officer and senior vice president of supply chain at Burberry.
