Switzerland headquartered - SGS SA has been awarded the China Compulsory Certification (CCC) approved laboratory status.

Historically, only government institutions and state-owned enterprises were able to be accredited to this important ‘Approved Laboratory’ status.

Recently, The Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNCA) announced significant changes to the China Compulsory Certification (CCC) bodies and approved laboratories scheme.

Certain categories of products, intended to be sold in the China market, are subject to the China Compulsory Certification program.

SGS is the only European based TIC player approved by the Chinese government to offer all of the relevant CCC testing services in China.

“We are very happy with this new & important accreditation. This is a clear demonstration of SGS ‘s technical competency, our significant presence in the Chinese domestic market and our continued drive to participate more closely in this great economy”, said Chris Kirk, CEO of SGS.

“As a first, this initial CCC accreditation is a key breakthrough and a stepping stone for further penetration into the China compulsory certification market”, he added.
