Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) is planning to launch its new 2012 Camry car on 24 August 2012 in India.

The components of the new Camry would be imported and assembled at TKM's facility in Bangalore, Karnataka.

The new model will be available only with a petrol option for now and will be powered by a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder Dual-VVT-i petrol engine with around 180PS of power and 230Nm of torque.

TKM Marketing deputy managing director Sandeep Singh said, "We are targeting to sell 1,70,000 units this year, compared to 1,31,000 units (last year)."

During July 2012, TKM has reported a 7% increase in sales at 14,574 units, compared to 13,592 units for the same period last year.

TKM is a joint venture between Japan-based Toyota Motor Corp and the Kirloskar Group.
