The Way to Make New Items Extra Noticeable

Quick Furniture Design Tip #10 From Uma Stewart: How to Draw Attention to The Newest Items in The Store
Uma Stewart

New items have a way of drawing attention to themselves, but when you want to make them extra noticeable use these tips

A sure fire way to draw attention to your new items is to place them up front, near the entrance. This will get them noticed not only when customers enter the space, but also when they are leaving and make them think about it a second time.

If possible, try to create interesting displays that feature new merchandise. Instead of lumping all the new items together, think about which ones make sense together. If a new display is not possible then incorporate the new pieces with existing displays and draw attention to them by using signage and lighting.

Select sign holders that coordinate with the feel of the store and instead of using generic 'sal' stickers use something interesting and different. Also, use spot lighting to highlight the new pieces when possible and most importantly your staff should stay informed of new shipments and displays so that they can point customers in the right direction.
