Quantum Print and Packaging Invests in Foliant Equipment

Quantum Print and Packaging has invested in Foliant equipment, in a bid to enhance its operations to meet the increasing demand from customers.

The West Midlands firm has installed Foliant Vega 400A laminator, Foliant multi-functional inprinting unit and sheet delivery jogger, which was purchased from Intelligent Finishing Systems (IFS).

Established in 2005, Quantum manufactures a range of litho and digital print packaging solutions through using Heidelberg B1 and Ricoh presses.

The firms’ customers range from SMEs to blue chip companies in various sectors, including sports nutrition, beverage, technology and e-cigarettes.

Foliant Vega 400A (B3+) is a compact industrial laminating machine developed to be used for heavy duty digital applications.

The machine includes an integrated deep pile vacuum feeder and high speed bump separator with non-sticky pressure roller and in-run adjustable twin decurl bar and overlap system.

It is used for all kinds of digital printed sheets lamination and high volumes of offset printed sheets size B3+ lamination due to its pneumatic high pressure system.

Foliant multi-functional inprinting unit helps to make foiling and spot varnish fast and affordable for short run and personalised print.

It can run a range of colours including gold, silver, red and green and a clear gloss for spot varnish, in addition to be used for a range of end uses from corporate stationery to POS and book covers.

Quantum joint managing director Giles Foden: “The investment was made to compliment the digital capability that we introduced in 2016 with the Ricoh Pro C9100 digital colour press.”

“We wanted to satisfy the increasing demand from our customers for embellished digital printed packaging.”
