Coveris Buys Ecuador Label Manufacturing Firm Supraplast

Global packaging and coatings solutions Coveris has acquired Ecuador-based shrink sleeve and adhesive label technologies firm Supraplast.

The acquisition expands Coveris operations in the Central and South American regions.

Based in Guayaquil, Supraplast produces a range of products, including shrink sleeves, self-adhesive labels, safety seals, PVC and PET shrink films.

The printing technology firm supplies its products to the customers of different markets, including food and beverage, pharmaceutical, personal care and agriculture.

Coveris Holding and Coveris Flexibles have signed management services agreement with Supraplast to expand operations in the South American region.

Coveris president and CEO Gary Masse said: "We are very pleased with the acquisition of Supraplast, our first operation located in South America.

"We look forward to continued growth in Latin and South America."

In May 2015, Coveris acquired Elldex Packaging Solutions, a division of Hellaby Holdings, with packaging businesses in New Zealand and Australia.

Elldex manufactures and imports HDPE and LDPE flexible plastic packaging for meat, dairy, seafood, horticulture, and agricultural sectors.
