Label and tag manufacturer Continental Datalabel has installed three Mark Andy Performance Series P5 presses, to support growing production volumes in the US.

The firm, which operates three manufacturing facilities in Texas, California and Illinois in the US, is engaged in production of labels for many different industries, mainly manufacturing & distribution.

Each of the presses, which are configured identical at each plant, feature Mark Andy’s Quick Change Die Cut (QCDC) finishing technology, a cold foil unit, and smart blade system, designed to achieve higher print quality at faster speeds.

Continental Datalabel has purchased the 17’’ P5 8-color presses, each equipped with 8 flexo stations, as a result of increased press workloads and overall growth of customer base, thus requiring additional operating capacity.

The firm’s research and development (R&D) team has then selected Mark Andy Performance Series presses as they are designed with an overriding focus on increased productivity, ease of use, fast changeovers and waste reduction, Mark Andy said.

Continental Datalabel president and COO Pat Flynn said: “The Mark Andy P5 impressed my team during demos with quick setup time, minimal waste, the operator friendly design.”

According to Mark Andy, the installation of new P5 presses will help Continental Datalabel in meeting growing demand for intricate label designs and support its further growth in the custom label sector.

Flynn added: “Our distributor partners now have a single platform to support their jobs across the country. Customers will see the same high-quality results across all 3 locations.

“This ensures brand consistency, while leveraging quick delivery and reduced shipping expenses. Continental Datalabel is small enough to respond and big enough to deliver!”

Application of the Mark Andy Performance Series P5 press include bottle wraps, film, film – unsupported, film labels, general label, light carton, paper labels, primary pressure sensitive labels, secondary labels, shrink sleeve, specialty, and wine labels.
