TUV SUD Is Announced to Be Accredited by NVLAP for Energy Efficient Lighting Program

In February 2012,   TÜV SÜD is officially announced to be accredited by NVLAP for Energy Efficient Lighting Program. Under this accreditation, TÜV SÜD is recognized by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the ENERGY STAR® Program covering the following lighting products:

  • Compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs)
  • GU24
  • Integral LED lamps (Omnidirectional/Directional/ Decorative)
  • Luminaires (Directional SSL, Fluorescent, Halogen)
  • Fluorescent lamps
  • Fluorescent ballast
  • LED package, module or array (IES LM-80-2008)

In January 2011, TÜV SÜD had already become an EPA recognized certification body for ENERGY STAR® certification for lighting. With this new recognition, TÜV SÜD can provide both the testing and certification service for lighting clients under ENERGY STAR® program.

Besides, under NVLAP's accreditation, TÜV SÜD can also issue IES LM79 report for clients to apply for DOE Lighting Facts® Label.
