Paklab to Set up New Equipment at Its 100,000ft2 Facility in U.S.

Flexible packaging manufacturer PakLab plans to install new equipment at its 100,000ft2 facility, situated in Orland, US, with an investment of around $1.19m.

With the installation of new equipment by fall 2014, the company will be able to produce flexible and convenience packaging and promote sustainability simultaneously.

Paklab flexible packaging division president Mario Tomei said the company is building a relationship with the town of Orland and with Indiana.

"We take great pride in being able to bring forward the investments that will in turn bring economic opportunities to the community," Tomei added.

PakLab received up to $70,000 from the Indiana Economic Development in training grants based on its job creation plans.

The company intends to start hiring for manufacturing line positions later in 2014. It currently employs around 825 full-time associates across the US, including 35 in Indiana.

Paklab, which operates two flexible packaging sites and two contract manufacturing sites, produces pouches that can be used for products including food, consumer goods and cosmetics.
