A New Pouch Making Machine to Enhance Tyler Packaging's Production Capacity

UK-based flexible packaging manufacturer Tyler Packaging has invested in a new pouch making machine to enhance its production capacity.

The company has acquired a new FD-60DLLSC Totani model which will be installed in 2015. This investment will help Tyler expand its capacity to produce SQ4/quad seal bags and large format pouches.

Tyler had recently installed another Totani model at the end of 2013 which helped the company increase its production capacity for flat base pouches.

The FD-60DLLSC produces flat and gusseted pouches measuring between 200mm and 590mm in width and up to 500mm in length.

The pouches are suitable to be used for pet foods and garden foods owing to their large size. The machine can print branding on all five sides as it is capable of printing on the bottom panel. It can use a large variety of laminated films.

The machine can produce at a speed of about 240 cycles per minute together with high strength sealing.

Packaging Europe quoted Tyler Packaging sales director Adam Kay as saying: "We want to offer our clients the most advanced packaging solutions and we're continuously looking to improve wherever possible.

"By developing our processes and technology, we're able to expand our product portfolio which means we can cater for a broader range of clients by producing the most advanced flexible packaging currently available in the industry. The Totani acquisition is one of several developments planned for the coming months."

By utilising the capabilities of the new machine, Tyler will be able to provide its clients with an array of packaging options.
