2013 Q5 Suv with Five Engine Options Is Launched by Audi

German carmaker Audi has unveiled the new updated Q5 SUV with five powertrain options which include three TDI and two TFSI engines.

The TDI begins with the 2.0 litre diesel engine which is tuned in two different frequencies, including the first engine which will generate a 143 hp and 320nm torque, while consuming 5.3 l/100km and emits 139 g/km of CO2.

The other will generate an output of 177 hp and 380nm torque while consuming 6 l/100km.

Audi Q5's topline diesel will be a 3.0 litre V6 engine which will deliver 245 hp and 580nm torque and is mated to a seven-speed Stronic and quattro drive system which will accelerate the Q5 from zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 6.5 seconds and claims to offer a top speed of 225 km/h.

Its TFSI petrol engine will be offered in two versions, including, the 2.0 litre petrol that delivers 225 hp, 350nm torque while consuming 7.6 l/100km.

The petrol's top line engine is a 3.0 litre V6 which will produce 272hp and 400nm torque, and can speed from 0-100kmph in 5.9 seconds and maxes out at 234 km/h, while consuming 8.5l/100km.

The 2.0 litre TFSI will be mated to a six-speed manual as standard, with the eight-speed tiptronic as option, while the 3.0 litre V6 TFSI will be mated to an eight- speed tiptronic as standard and the 3.0 TDI will be mated to a seven speen transmission and is optional for 177 hp 2.0 TDI.

Audi has also unveiled the new hybrid version for Q5 which will be powered by 2.0 TFSI with 211 hp and 350 Nm and an electric motor which will deliver an output of 54 hp and 210nm.

Mated to a eight-speed tiptronic transmission, both can jointly generate 245 hp and 480nm torque and facilitate the hybrid to sprint from 0 to 100km/h in 7.1 seconds with a top speed of 225 km/h.

Except the 2.0 TDI model, which is front-wheel drive, all the other models will feature the quattro permanent all-wheel drive system.

Audi said that the new models will arrive in Europe in mid-2012 which will be available at a starting price of EUR39,990.
