M-Xylene Prices Went up by 3% W-O-W in The First Week of February This Year

M-Xylene prices went up by 3% w-o-w in the first week of February this year due to rise in upstream product prices. Prices were assessed in the range of 455-465 (cents/gallon) FOB US in the week ending February 9, 2013.  

M-Xylene prices were assessed in the range of 420-435 (cents/gallon) in US in the early days of December, 2012. Prices showed an upward trend in the first half of the month and went up between 4% and 8% w-o-w. However; prices declined by 1% to 3% in the second half of the month.  

M-Xylene prices were hovering around 430-475 (cents/gallon) in the initial days of January, 2013 and witnessed a stable-to-soft trend in the month and decreased by 2% to 3%.   

Contract prices for the month of February were settled at 446 (cents/gallon) lower by 20 (cents/gallon), as compared to the contract prices of January.
