American actor George Clooney along with drink industry executives Rande Gerber and Michael Meldman established a drinks importing company called Casamigos Spirits Company in order to oversee all the functions of Casamigos Tequila brand.
Starting 1 January 2016, Casamigos Spirits Company will become the exclusive importer for Casamios Tequila.
Casamigos owners Clooney, Gerber and Meldman were quoted by The Spirits Business as saying: "We are extremely proud of Casamigos Tequila's success and are very happy people enjoy drinking Casamigos as much as we do."
The importing company will be headed by Lee Ensidler, a former CEO of Sidney Frank Importing Company.
Sidney Frank Importing Company had gained the rights to import Casamigos Tequila in April 2014 when Lee Ensidler was still at the helm of the company, The Spirits Business reported.
Now, Einsidler will be joined by Adam Rosen, EVP, and Olivier Bugat, VP, of Sidney Frank Importing Company at Casamigos Spirits Company to provide assistance.
Rosen is a marketing executive with 17 years of experience in the beverage and alcohol industry while Bugat worked as a product development executive at Sidney Frank Importing since 1997, reports virtual-strategy.com.
The company will also be employing additional sales staff.
Casamigos Spirits Company's newly-appointed CEO Lee Ensidler was quoted by The Spirits Business as saying: "Casamigos has all the necessary ingredients for tremendous success and is the reason it has become the fastest growing premium tequila in the country: the best tasting, smoothest Tequila, perfect package design, grassroots popularity, critical acclaim, and enormously talented and dedicated owners and team behind it."
During the calendar year of 2014, Casamigos Tequila reported high growth which was punctuated with international launches in Ibiza and London, with sales increasing fivefold from the previous year. This growth continued through this year as well with sales rocketing to more than 150% over the same period of 2014, virtual-strategy.com reported.
