Gujarat Moving Towards Becoming The Textile Manufacturing Hub of India

The Government of Gujarat has extended full support for growth of textile machinery show ITMACH India, currently ongoing in Gandhinagar.

Speaking at the concurrently held international textile conference ‘India – Opportunities for Global Textile Investments’, Saurabh Patel, Gujarat’s minister of finance and industry, said, “Gujarat is moving towards becoming the textile manufacturing hub of the country. At such a time, an exhibition like ITMACH India is very much the need of the hour.”

“We hope that ITMACH India will be an annual event in Gandhinagar’s Exhibition Centre, which is a world class exhibition facility. I hope to see ITMACH India show grow from one hall today to several in the next one year, with full support of the state government,” Patel said.

Large crowds were seen on the first two days of the four-day exhibition and some deals have been struck, according to the organisers.

Gujarat is home to one of the most developed textile industries, and now the state saw its first international textile machinery show ITMACH. This show will also help the large and growing textile industry in Western India which needs adequate interaction with the technology providers.

Exhibitors at the fully-booked show ITMACH 2014, which will go on till December 13, are showcasing the latest technological innovations and developments, with machinery suppliers eager to reach out to the growing Indian textile market, especially western Indian.

With cotton prices at an ebb, and the Indian Government launching ‘Make in India’ programme, the Indian textile and clothing industry is currently in investment mode, and organisers expect major investment decisions to be taken during the show.

ITMACH India is supported by the Gujarat Government as ‘Principal Supporting State Government’, Industrial Extension Bureau (iNDEXTb) of Gujarat and leading trade bodies like CITI, PDEXCIL and SRTEPC.

Considering the size and response, ITMACH India has been conferred the status of pre-summit event to Vibrant Gujarat 2015 to stimulate investments in Gujarat.
