Trade Situation of South Korea in the first half of 2013

According to South Korea's customs statistics, the import and export value of South Korea goods amounted to 533.27 billion US dollars, with a decrease of 1.1% year on year. Among them, the export value amounted to 276.65 billion US dollars, with an increase of 0.6%, while the import value amounted to 256.62 billion US dollars, with a decrease of 2.8%. Trade surplus was 20.02 billion US dollars, with an increase of 84.1%.

In June, the import and export value of South Korea goods amounted to 87.43 billion US dollars, with a decrease of 1.9%. Among them, the export value amounted to 46.71 billion US dollars, with a decrease of 1.0%, while the import value amounted to 40.72 billion US dollars, with a decrease of 3.0%. Trade surplus was 5.99 billion US dollars, with an increase of 16.0%.

From Jan. to June, the import and export value of South Korea and China bilateral goods amounted to 110.52 billion US dollars, with an increase of 6.4%. Among them, South Korea exported 69.54 billion US dollars to China, with an increase of 9.8%, accounting for 25.1% of total exports, with an increase of 2.1 percentage points. South Korea imported 40.98 billion US dollars from China, with an increase of 1.2%, accounting for 16.0% of total imports, with an increase of 0.7 percentage points. Trade surplus of South Korea and China was 28.56 billion US dollars, with an increase of 25%.

Until June, China is South Korea's largest trading partner.
