David Walliams Has Been Announced as The Host of This Year's British Fashion Awards

British comedian, actor, author, television presenter and philanthropist, David Walliams has been announced as the host of this year’s British Fashion Awards.

A member of the London Collections: Men committee since its inception in June 2012, David has been working closely with the British Fashion Council raise the profile of the UK’s menswear industry.

Caroline Rush, CEO British Fashion Council, commented: “It’s an honour to welcome David Walliams to the stage, a man behind one of Britain’s best loved characters, whose achievements and influence is far reaching, and whose charitable efforts and contributions to so many fields have been awarded by numerous landmark accolades and awards. A fantastic ambassador for the UK, it’s with great pleasure we can announce that David is able to join us as this year’s host for the British Fashion Awards.”

The award ceremony, set to take place on 2nd December at the London Coliseum, is attended by influential industry leaders, designers, models, retailers and celebrities and is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the outstanding global influence of the British fashion industry. Nominees for this year’s prizes include Marc Jacobs, Anya Hindmarch, Victoria Beckham, Mary Katrantzou, Raf Simons, Nicholas Kirkwood and Cara Delevingne.

The finalists have been selected by an exclusive panel of over 300 names from the world’s leading industry insiders including journalists, buyers and influencers including Anna Wintour OBE, Laura Bailey, Glenda Bailey OBE, Alex Bilmes, Tim Blanks, Joan Bursetin CBE, Alison Edmond, Edward Enninful, Poppy Delevingne, Dylan Jones OBE, Lulu Kennedy MBE, Jefferson Hack, Suzy Menkes OBE, Natalie Massenet MBE, Alexandra Shulman OBE, Justine Picardie and Lorraine Candy.

The categories to be announced on the evening are: Emerging Womenswear Designer, Emerging Menswear Designer, Emerging Accessories Designer, Accessory Designer of the Year, Red Carpet Designer of the Year, Model of the Year, Brand of the Year, International Designer of the Year, New Establishment Designer, Menswear Designer of the Year, Womenswear Designer of the Year,Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator, BFC Outstanding Achievement Award, Creative Campaign of the Year and the British Style Award brought to you by Vodafone.
