Rockline Europe Installs Ice Coders to Reduce Downtime

Rockline Europe has invested in a fleet of Interactive Coding Equipment (ICE) coders for primary and secondary packaging requirements.

Rockline installed 13 ICE Zodiac thermal transfer coders and nine ICE Viper thermal inkjet printers at its facility in Redditch, UK.

Zodiac thermal transfer coders will be used in primary packaging applications, while Viper thermal inkjet printers will be used in secondary packaging applications.

ICE Zodiac’s patented bi-directional ribbon drive will enable to recapture unused ribbon following each print and keep a 0.5mm gap between prints to create more prints per roll.

ICE Viper holds capacity to print up to four lines of text at 600 DPI resolution, as well as barcodes, 2D data matrix codes and logos.

Rockline Europe UK general manager Simon Neale said: “Rockline is a highly automated high volume low-cost manufacturer, and the ICE machines are reliable and can keep up with the demands of our operation.

“Our operators find it easy to get to grips with the ICE printers through their simple-to-use touchscreen interface. Consumable changeovers are also fast and simple with the Zodiac’s quick ribbon change and the Viper’s easy-change cartridge.”

Rockline Europe, which is an international provider of FMCG goods, has   production facilities in the UK, Germany and China.

The company supplies its products solutions to the various brands and retailer in Europe.
