Production Capability of Meat Facility Will Be Expanded in Ireland by Kepak

Irish food processing company Kepak plans to expand the production capability of its meat facility in County Cork,Ireland,creating 100 new jobs.

The company noted that nearly 60 positions have already been filled,while the remaining 40 are expected to be created in 2013.

Kepak managing director John Horgan said the company is investing in the facility to ensure it remains best-in-class and to expand the production capability to cater to a growing consumer demand for slow cooked meats.

This project is being supported by Enterprise Ireland-the government agency responsible for supporting Irish businesses.

Kepak's Cork facility features two primary businesses-its core business portions and packs retail ready chilled meat packs,while the other processes a range of'slow cooked'own label and branded consumer meats.

The facility,which has a workforce of 600,caters to the Musgrave Group's SuperValu and Centra stores in Ireland.
