The Forum on Color and Quality Management of Textile & Garment Brands Was Held in Shanghai

The High-Level Forum on Color and Quality Management of Textile & Garment Brands was held in Shanghai between August 20th and 21st. This forum was cosponsored by China Textile Information Center (CTIC) and China Fashion & Color Association (CFCA), organized by CNCSCOLOR Global technical service center and China National Textile & Apparel Council (SongJiang) Testing Center, cooperated by Innovation Park for China Textile & Apparel Brand CTIC and SDL Atlas Ltd.

Mr. Hu Song, the Vice Director of CTIC, and General Manager of Innovation Park for China Textile & Apparel Brand CTIC, gave the opening address and introduced the professional service system of Innovation Park for China Textile & Apparel Brand in detail.

More than seventy delegates from more than thirty textile & apparel brands companies, universities, testing institutes and equipment suppliers attended this forum, such as Perry Ellis, PVH, IKEA, Hugo Boss, Datacolor, SDLATLAS, Columbia, Toread, Ningbo Shanshan, LUTHAI, Fulida, Anoky, Kaken, Hongkong Poly-University, etc.. Guests and representatives discussed various subjects with the theme of “Color and Quality Management in China Textile & Garment Supply Chain” and made lots of interesting reports surrounding the core topics, such as “how to improve the color and quality management level of textile & garment supply chain”, and “how to control and optimize cost”, “how to speed to market” and so on.

In addition to the keynote speech, special topic forums “The application of color management in textile and garment supply chain” and “Product quality management in the textile and garment supply chain” were set up.

Mr. Chen Jun and Mr. Cai Tao, the marketing director and the sales manager of CNCSCOLOR Global technical service center separately, introduced the color management, the product series and color solution for fashion of CNCSCOLOR.

Mr. Robert K. Lattie, Director, Product Management of SDL Atlas and Former Chairmen of AATCC, made a speech entitled “Winners Don’t Race To The Bottom”. Beginning with the argument of offering lowest price is the start of the race to the bottom, his speech discussed that how to convey the products’ advantages and characteristics to customs from three following respects: absolute advantages, comparative advantages and competitive advantages. SDLATLAS also demonstrated FTT Fabric Touch Tester, MMT Moisture Management Tester and other advanced instruments on the spot.

Mr. Mohamed Noorulla, Vice President of Perry Ellis International, introduced the color management and supply chain management of Perry Ellis. His presentation dwelt on color approval, color management and speed-to-market, provided a method of instruction of color supply chain management.

Mr. Lu Guohua, Manager of Kaken, systemically explained the experience of quality management of Japanese garment retailer by laws, standards, relevant partners’ responsibility, etc. Mr. Chen Baishun, Technical Director of Beijing Toread Outdoor Products Co. Ltd, introduced their standardization strategy and quality management practices.

Mr. Wu Chongliang, Sales Manager of TSC Textile Department of Datacolor Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd, expounded the application of digital color management in domestic and international garment brands.

Mr. Tang Xiaofei, Director of Technical Shanghai Anoky, spoke of how Anoky and garment brands co-developed color, the application of Anoky, and construction of development & technique support capability.

Dr. Hu Junyan, Senior Researcher of Hongkong Poly-University, introduced his research group and the latest development in functional material evaluation- FTT Fabric Touch Tester, and how to conduct the technology-industrialization transfer.
