China Is Planning to Invest $16bn to Build More Electric Charging Facilities

China is planning to invest $16bn to build more electric charging facilities, in order to boost the use of electric- vehicles in the country.

China is becoming one of the most polluted countries in the world as it is one of the world's biggest carbon emitter, reported Bloomberg.

The government is making the investment to make electric vehicles more attractive to the masses, and it is expecting that the wider adoption of clean vehicle will help China address the emission problem.

Previously, China announced that it will exempt some amount of taxes from fuel-cell vehicles, plug-in hybrids, and electric cars, and it has ordered government departments to use the vehicles for official use.

The Chinese government is also reportedly encouraging non car makers to enter the electric car market to even out the competition that it would face from foreign car makers.

The details of the new policy have not been disclosed, but it is expected to be announced soon.
